The site
São Gião is a beautiful parish in the Center of Portugal, on Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in Portugal. It belongs to the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital, in the district of Coimbra. It is located at 40°33'N, 7°80'W and lies at an altitude of 704m, in the Beira region. The Utopia spot is located at the fridge of Serra da Estrela natural reserve. The place is blessed by an 80% shadow area, reflected by beautiful high size trees that harmonically fill all the area. The river, Alva, follows all over the site borders. At one end we find a little island ideal for a sunny experience, along with a magical spot for swimming and jumping into the fresh water.
The camping area (only accessible by foot, no cars or vans) reflects the beautyness of the place, having an utopic flower carpet under our exploring feets!
