INTERVIEW WITH TAMERA FOUNDER DIETER DUHM
Tamera, a peace research centre in southern Portugal known by its developments in the areas of permaculture and solar technology, is based on a new concept of human co-habitation. We introduce a few of the basic thoughts in the following interview with Tamera founder Dieter Duhm.
In Tamera technological advancements in decentralized energy and bio construction have resulted in the creation of the Solar Village, a self sufficient area with regards to energy and food; permaculture principles have paved the way for a re-designing of the barren Alentejo landscape and where before there was drought and dryness, there is now a vast waterscape with lush vegetation; within the realm of political action and peace work, efforts are being made towards the creation of a morphogenetic field for peace and it is believed that if a critical mass of people worldwide adhere to this “peace grid”, what is known as the “tipping point” will be reached; experiments in human behavior explore the way in which men and woman relate to each other socially, sexually and spiritually and it is stated that the fundamental war of the world is the war between the sexes and that peace amongst men and woman is the base for world peace.
Greetings Dr Dieter Duhm and many thanks for your availability to talk to us! Let’s start with a big question…
How do you describe the planetary shift believed by many to fully manifest in 2012? Do you agree that Tamera can be described as a model for how society may be some years from now?
It is not only about the year 2012; it is about a worldwide transformation in the midst of which we are already today. The date 2012 marks a climax and a turning point in this development. At this time an increased solar activity and other astronomical factors have an effect on the magnetic field of the earth. The magnetic field of the earth has an effect on the neural processes in the human brain. This triggers new thought processes and different perceptions of the world. The current apocalypses will grow more acute; nevertheless the Mayan date does not mean the end of the world but a radical renewal. A new epoch emerges, the matrix of life on this planet is modified. The old matrix of violence, separation and fear will be substituted by a new matrix of re-embedding human life into the larger family of life. This process does neither happen at a specific moment nor place, instead it is long on the way and will continue to grow to the extent that in Tamera, in San José/Colombia, in Sao Paulo, in Bethlehem, in Tallinn, in Tilonia and Sekem and in many other places on earth the new communities unfold. It is about a worldwide process of transformation which leads us over from a hologram of seperation and fear to a hologram of unity and solidarity with all that is alive.
Can you explain in short what you mean by a ‘hologram’?
I use the word hologram in the sense of a basic life pattern, a basic matrix of all things. To give an allegory: I look through a kaleidoscope and see a symmetrical pattern of colors. Then I turn the kaleidoscope just slightly and a fully new symmetrical pattern of colors appears. To be noticed: through a tiny turn a highly complex pattern is changed to a fully different one! Which turn do we have to do to create such a change worldwide from the matrix of violence to the matrix of peace? This was the question of our project right from the beginning. There are many examples of how such turns happened for individuals. But how can it take place collectively, historically, and globally? Which social, ecological, technological and spiritual change do we need to create it lastingly – and to redeem humanity from the collective trauma of abandonment?
The people of Tamera live under special conditions. Are the thoughts developed in Tamera valid for people from Sao Paulo or Colombia as well?
Yes. The worldwide misery stems from the same root everywhere, it only shows in different forms: in some places it shows rather latently and discretely in the everyday wars between people, in other places it shows in the most extreme cruelty and overt violence. Through all of this a continuous traumatic film reigns, which derives from thousands of years of war and is present all through humanity today. The collective war is burned into the genetic and neural patterns of our life. We experience it in our daily relations either as a latent underground of fear or anger or all the way as overt forms of retaliation and violence. We can only succeed with global healing, if we succeed to dissolve these traumatic patterns and substitute them by new patterns of cooperation and solidarity. Lovers will never find each other without fear of loss, without mistrust and jealousy, without anger and secrete hate, as long as we have not resolved the traumatic film at its core. This is not a question of therapy any more, but the question of a new way to live on our planet. There is a sacred matrix, a basic pattern of a sound society, we also call it the ‘original utopia’. This has to be found and re-established on all continents. For this the work of my partner Sabine Lichtenfels stands.
What other movements worldwide do you see as being part of the “morphogenetic field” of peace that Tamera exemplifies, and when and how will the “tipping point” be reached?
As an example you can think of San José de Apartado and Mulatos in Colombia, where a community decided under the most difficult conditions to participate in building this morphogenetic field. In many places similar initiatives emerge. It is not about local events but about a global change-over of epoch in the energy field of the earth. In the end this epochal change takes place everywhere where people recognize that life cannot be continued in the same manner, not in love, nor in economy, nor in politics, nor anywhere. It cannot be continued. Today the epochal change takes place wherever there is a sincere search for new answers. Humanity is a whole, a holon. The new answers and information which is fed into it, have their effect everywhere. Of course Tamera tries to be a generator for ideas and feed well-founded information into the system. We will see, where the seeds sprout and with what other places on earth, with which other cultural impulses, they fuse. To create a global context for this worldwide process, we created the ‘Global Campus’. More and more international partners offer their support. Maybe for example a new base can be created in Bolivia where the president Evo Morales published a new manifest for the co-operation with Mother Earth last year. An absolute political novelty in our time! The Global Campus shall contribute to a global focusing of this new energy, for the field of planetary healing to grow everywhere.
Now to the question of the ‘tipping point’:
This is a highly interesting key question. What is the tipping point for the change of power and actually what is the tipping point for all of life? We cannot give a schematic answer to this question. The point of no return is reached when the new spirit of the new planetary community has grown stronger than the old powers. When the target oriented power for a future without war is higher than the attachment to the old structures. As soon as the new forces come into resonance with the universal power of the Sacred Matrix, they will win. This is not a question of fighting but of resonance and of the intelligence and solidarity present in the groups involved.
There is a quote that says that in the future “only tribes will survive”. What advice can you give to people who are living a normal life in an normal city and are not living in community? How are the teachings of Tamera relevant to such a person?
The quote comes from an Native Indian chief and we should not take it too literally. But it does contain a deep truth. In functioning communities higher field forces of trust, mutual support and endurance are at work. For sure not all people will die, who do not live in community. But we live in a worldwide process of transformation which – as a tendency – aims for the overcoming of separation and the creation of new communities. People in big cities share this morphogenetic field as well, and there communities will grow as well. The power of survival consists of the participation in the new processes of trust and solidarity. It is not a precondition to live in community to be part of this global healing process. I assume that every person who has a clear mind and some courage for truth will survive .
Some people find it difficult to understand the concept of “free love”. What does free love mean and in what way does it contrast to the one-to-one relationship model that is still prevalent in many societies?
The old model of the twosome relationship is a key for the misery of our civilization. It is the model of the patriarchal epoch. It did never exist before and it will never exist again afterwards. It is a direct consequence of the suppression of women and the separation of the human being from its sources, from community, from earth and heaven. Only after the male empires succeeded in destroying the wild nature of the woman, to burn and extinct it, women could be made compliant to the submissive bond to just one man. Something unimaginably terrible happened in the history of war in the last 5000 years and in the history of religion in the last 2000 years. As a consequence of this collective trauma of humanity the original inter-human relations broke. A world of mistrust, competition, fear and separation came into existence. When a young man and a young woman fall in love nowadays they vow faithfulness to each other. For it is the only salvation. At least here, with this one person, love, trust and embedding have to come true. But such a covenant can not last, because the historically formed gender conflict cannot be solved between two people. It is a conflict of humanity, not a private one. The concept of free love requires functioning communities and human trust; it provides the opportunity for the involved ones to find contact and home, even when unsolvable problems appear in the relationship. In such case nobody depends on the relationship to just one person. Exactly in this point, couples who failed in their love, have the continuous possibility to find each other anew. The concept of free love is not by principle against the twosome relationship. Just the opposite: it enables two partners to find a loving contact which is no longer based on projection and cramped up longings but instead on mutual perception and discovery. Free love and twosome love do not contradict but complement each other.
What is the fundamental war between the sexes? Why do you say that for peace on Earth to be possible there must be peace between the sexes. How can this be achieved?
For men and women to be able to live together under the given conditions they had to lie to each other. They could not tell each other the truth about their secret longings and their sexual desires for others. Every day murder is committed when one partner feels “betrayed” by the other, because they had given the vow of faithfulness to each other too early. From this drama in love more people die every day than in car crashes; added to that, there is the fate of children who are in the field of war between their parents daily. These are no exceptions. It is about millions of children in every country. This is an endless tragedy of the soul. It can only be ended by freeing love, faithfulness and partnership between the genders forever from fear of separation and mistrust. Ending the war between the genders inside, is the deepest task in global peace work. From the beginning it was the core issue of Tamera. There can be no peace in the world, as long as there is war in love.
How can peace between the genders be reached? Through building communities, in which new forms of truth, transparency and trust can be realized. For this we need new social and ethical structures as well as new visions for love and solidarity. These are the values that we manifest concretely in Tamera and the Global Campus.
How is the role of woman changing in the world and how is this linked to the planetary shift towards a new era?
The woman in the present culture only had the possibility to relate to one single man. By this she lost a part of her sexual nature and of her female source. All of humanity came from the female source. The mystery cultures of the early times came out of the female source and the female perception of all life belonging together. The emerging new woman’s field serves the reconnection of women with their female source. They will no longer belong to one man as written in the Bible. It will be a radical dissociation from the ideas of the Christian church, Judaism and the Islam. For these three religions contributed barbarically to the destruction of the female source. Here radical re-thinking is required, here helps no therapy. It is about the rediscovery of sacred life forces in the human body, in the living body of the earth, in nature and in the whole universe. Many young women, who live in Tamera today, face a decision of a new kind: it is no longer the decision for one love partner, but the decision for solidarity towards women, which they would have perceived as rivals and fought against secretly before. The discovery that two women can still be friends when they love the same man. The real discovery of love without jealousy! This opens a new development, a new level in the evolution of the relation between the genders, and in women finding their profession. The women of the future will organize life on earth and take care of it. But no longer in the old sense of “children-kitchen-church” but in the sense of their original role which they had in the mystery cultures in Malta, in Old Egypt and in the early times of the Stone circles. They will take on this role again at the new level of the 21st century. For this reason Sabine Lichtenfels is holding the mystery course, the Stone circle and the altar: to find out how much of the old knowledge of life from the times of mystery can be included and continued today. The women involved experience a particular joy. Their work is by no means against men. Quite the opposite: they anticipate that they will find a very different kind attention and appreciation from men on this new level. I think this process shows in Tamera more and more. May all men help with that. Thank you and Amen.
The Solar Village project of Tamera seems truly revolutionary. Can you describe its key elements? Do you predict that this technology will be replicated on a wider scale? When?
Thank you for the question. But it would require a longer answer. It truly is a revolutionary project with an ingenious solution to the worldwide energy problem. We are now in the second phase of construction with a special workshop for the further development of the technology. The next goal is to supply with this new technology (developed by Jürgen Kleinwächter) an experimental community of 20-50 people with energy. It is almost a “Biosphere 3”. The technological system consists of a different motor (low temperature Stirling), an intricate lens system (Fresnel lenses), a multifunctional Greenhouse and a combination of many elements which together create an amazing power supply. I suppose soon more details will be published. Already now you can get more details through the Solar Power Village film by Nigel Dickinson or through: www.solarpowervillage.info
