Final day of Boom: The end of an old era and the rebirth of a-new. THE MOON IS PHENOMENAL. Walking from the Ambient Source to the Dance Temple, the silhouette of the dense woodland in the horizon is illuminated by la luna magica, like a sun rising by night. We are approaching the end of the Boom and the energy of the elements has heightened the atmosphere of the festival. Many people speak of returning to their so-called ‘normal lives.’ It is the beginning of the end – the end of an old era that is, not the end of the Boom. Earlier this evening, a magnificent parade of dancers, fire performers, costumed-beings celebrated the reality that we have collectively created here at Boom. We must continue as we have started by taking all that we have learnt into the wider world. This is 2012: transformation is taking place in front of our very eyes because we are practising the art of harmonious co-existence with each other and with nature; we are learning what we need to survive as human-beings. The world will always be here, yet as a species, we face many challenges. We are learning what we need to meet those challenges. Boom is a potent tool for achieving this and has inspired thousands of Boomers that are here, to go out there and create the same vibe every where around the world. So on that note: we better just carry on Booming: every time, every place, every where. It’s been such an incredible Boom experience this year; the spirit of the festival is the result of Boomers that converge here with the energy of their love, their passion, their art. It is also based on the love with which Boom has been created: and it comes from the hearts of the many Boomers that have built this festival, with more volunteers than ever behind the scenes contributing in a myriad of ways to the process of production. There is such a strong energy on site right now and it would not be what it is without all of the above. Even when you hear it from a distance, a surreal, epic-like dimension is added to every beat of every sonic journey; particularly when it comes from the Dance Temple – the pulsating heart of the Boom. Thank you to every Boomer that made it for 2012 – we know how challenging the journey can be. Thank you also to the lunatic cyclists that biked it to Boom (!) – your passion and commitment to be here demonstrates how Boom has become a Mecca of sorts for so many people. And last but not least, thank you to the Boomers that built Boom: the volunteers, the workers, the artists. Let’s carry on Booming, whoever we are, wherever we are. BOOOOOOOOM! See you SOON.
