BIRD OF PREY (USA) Live at the Alchemy Circle
Torin Goodnight is a producer from the West Coast of North America. After several years of being involved in the psy-trance scene, he developed his sound into something that more accurately represented his imagination, in hopes of conveying how he feels about music and it’s potential to transform our every day experience into something magical.
Bird of Prey produce music that is smooth yet abstract and haunting, falling under the psychedelic bass music territory (a crossover of psy arrangements, electronic experimentalism, fat production, and amalgamation of glitch-psytrance-bass music-dubstep and beyond).
His set has tracks from his side project Birds of Paradise, that he shares with Tyler Gibson (Gibson). Each has a decade of experience behind him and has been steadily making waves in the electronic music scene. Having a similar aesthetic but still maintaining an individual approach, they combine forces in a new symbiotic project to work towards a common vision and master the art of collaboration. The duo plays to its strengths- patience, beauty, and depth to offer a truly original sound of rolling percussive breakbeats, progressive melodies, incredible sound design and twisted psychedelic layers. Their fusion of elements, both natural and synthetic, create an engaging bio-digital landscape that leaves little to the imagination. It will take your ears only a moment to realize that you have uncovered something special.
Bird of Prey set at Boom Festival 2012 dubbed out electronics with psychedelic innovation and avant-garde atmospheres – a truly fresh and unique sound.
