Since 2008 Boom has a partnership with one mainstream festival in Portugal to recycle their rubbish and materials.The idea behind this project of resuing materials is avoiding using manufactured materials at Boom at the minimum level possible. At the same time we are extending the life cycle of products, minimizing the impact of the event.
In order to monitor the amount of products, the Boom team uses the scientific tool IWM -2 (Integrated Waste Management Model 2), developed by the Lisbon University IST.
