Roberdo Raval, there’s a popular quote that says life is like a box of chocolates, and you never know what you’re gonna get. If you ask Roberdo Raval, life is one of those orgiastic breakfast buffets to be found in good hotels, and the art is to try all the food available. However, he does agree in one crucial point: Life is sweet!

Describing himself as the Hedonistic Freelancer, Roberdo’s philosophy towards life includes two fundamental convictions. First of all, he confesses himself to be a hedonist. This simply means: Having a great time is the highest aim in life and, if there is such a thing, the reason why we’re around on this planet. Of course this little guy has to bring home the bacon, as well. To do so, he figured out that being free of the constraints of a steady deployment is the best way to achieve his highest aim in life. That’s why he is a freelance journalist and writer.

Since 2000, Roberdo has been invited to a variety of festivals and parties to share with the dance floors the ever changing kaleidoscope of his music collection. As a music journalist, he used to be the chief editor of Chaishop.com – Today, his scene activity as a writer includes being a core member of mushroom magazine.

Alex Tolstey, producer and director of Boshke Beats Records (Spain), label that for more then a decade blending techno with trance, electro with acid house and other undefined electronic dance music styles, the label that known for bringing to the listeners and dancers a different taste of psychedelic dance music.

Alex is producing music as Triangle Eyes, The Rockitmen and Triple Distilled and working with such acts as X-Dream, The Delta, Extrawelt, Fuzzion, Metalogic etc.

With a broad of knowledge and many years experience of the electronic music scene in general, Alex is worldwide well-respected techno/neo-trance DJ, playing frequently in clubs across North and South America, Asia, Middle East, Europe and participating in many important music festivals all around the world. At the current moment apart of his Boshke Beats activities Alex is running Horns and Hoofs Entertainment label.

The 10th EDITION of BOOM FESTIVAL will be held from the 4th to the 11th of AUGUST 2014 – FULL MOON.

The Boomers are people from different music scenes and cultural backgrounds, making DIVERSITY a main feature of Boom.

Many Boomers are psytrancers, who travel to the different festivals. Boom has always tried not to clash with the dates of other psytrance events to make sure people could have as many festival experiences as possible.

In 2014 the two dates in which two events in the European scene are held will overlap: the August Full Moon, during which Boom happens, and the first full week of August in which Ozora takes place, will happen at the same time. So, in order to avoid to “split the scene”, both festivals have agreed with mutual respect and a shared goal to make the dates compatible:

In 2014 Boom Festival will take place from the 4th to the 11th of August 2014 (with the music program starting on August 5th). Ozora Festival will exceptionally be held during the last week of July, from July 29th to August 3rd.

WILL THERE BE ANY EVENT IN 2013 and 2014 BEFORE BOOM?

Yes!!!

The Boom Land will host a series of events related to Permaculture and possibly other educational opportunities inspired by the need to go further in manifesting our collective vision for evolution.

We are also planning to organize various Boom Festival Teaser events in different countries.

LUCAS O’BRIEN at the Alchemy Circle

Lucas has been involved at the forefront of dance music since the early nineties playing techno, breaks and old school electro at renown clubs such as The End, Heaven, Club UK and Fabric.
He is now also known as a leading psychedelic trance dj representing Raja Ram’s label TIP records with his unique UK sound touring as far afield as Europe, Russia, US, South America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

As a producer Lucas has also been busy. He has collaborated with many top artists such as Eat Static, Raja Ram, Hallucinogen, Dickster, Tristan, Laughing Buddha, Aphid Moon, Prometheus and Avalon.
His critically acclaimed debut album, ‘God Save The Machine’, was released on TIP World in 2005 and fused new school production with TIP’s classic Goa sound.
Lucas’ second album, also on TIP, was released in 2010 titled ‘Tales Of Heads’ – once again teaming up with the UK’s best psytrance producers.

As well as his solo project, he has a band called Sybarite whose most recent projects include a remix of Avalon’s ‘Play It, Bahia’ (Nano records). More from them is in the pipeline.

Catch him on tour this year for a proper stomp on the dancefloor!

OUTSTANDING Greener Festival Award 2012 and European Festival Award Nomination

The Boom Environment Program keeps resonating worldwide. For the 3rd time in a row we got the OUTSTANDING Greener Festival Award. At the same time for the 2nd time Boom was nominated for the European Festival Award.

It has been an interesting week, having juris and experts on environment recognizing all that we (Boom Team and Boomers) do at Boom on the realm of environment. So the update and the full recognitions are:

- OUTSTANDING Greener Festival Award 2012. OUTSTANDING signifies a truly outstanding and inspirational event. These are exceptional events who have significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions, have excellent travel, transport and waste management programmes, protect the environment and minimise water use and communicate this to the public.

- Nomination for a special INSPIRATION award for Green Inspiration nominated by green auditors. The nominations are for green innovations at festivals and events around Europe which inspired the AGF team. Boom Festival was nominated for the on-site STAR waste water recycling scheme

- Nomination for EUROPEAN FESTIVAL AWARD in the category Green Operations Award – European Festival Award for Green Excellence. The short list of five festivals – selected by the jury – will be announced on november 12th. The winner will be announced at the European Festival Awards ceremony in Groningen on wed jan 9th in the Oosterport.

Boom is an independent, no-sponsor festival, the intention behind it is to be a catalyst for change, to show how another way to live on this planet is possible.

E-CLIP at the Dance Temple

Marko Radovanovic, from Belgrade, Serbia, took the essence of the Solar Eclipse and transformed it into a musical phenomenon that mixes the sun and night aka his alter ego – E-Clip. Along the way, he polished his precision and beat skills while he was playing as a drummer in Hardcore and New Age bands. And as a new star in the celestial sphere of Progressive Trance he absorbed a lot of inspiration from artists such as Jean Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, Klaus Shultze and Astral Projection. The big change for Radovanovic was similar to the process of Solar Eclipse; where the moon decides he wants to follow the sun’s fire and hot atmosphere. Radovanovic fell in love with the heat and energy of the other side of the decks of the Psychedelic Trance parties, and made his move. Thus, soon after he entered the psychedelic world in 2002, he started to produce music as well.

His first experiment was under a different more Full-Onish alter ego, named Beyondecliptica, and with it he released his debut album in 2008, ‘Groove technologies’, in the Greek label Medusa. Then Radovanovic realized it was time to undermine nature’s course and bring E-Clip to the world in 2009. Since that moment of creating his unique manifestation, he released music in various labels including: Blue Tunes, Spin Twist, Oxygen, Prog On Syndicate, Yellow Sunshine Explosion. Of course Iono Music spotted his magical influences and joined him to the family. His recent EP – ‘Press Hold’ at Iono that came out in November 2011 is just a taste of the many trips he will make on the orbit of the sun while inviting the moon to join occasionally.

TOM COSM at Alchemy Circle

Tom Cosm is an electronic music producer, performer and teacher from New Zealand, creating a sound of distinct glitchy grooves transposed into all styles and genres sure to lock you in the zone.

Giving all his music away for free yet maintaing a full time living as a musician, Tom has built his image up using various other fun and interesting mediums of promotion, with the main being his passion for teaching and interacting with others as he travels.

Keeping the whole project “open source” and using social media to heavily interact and include his fans in future decisions, the COSM project is constantly evolving for the better, playing off all the new and interesting opportunities that arise from an industry which is constantly and rapidly changing. He’s got his finger firmly fixed on the pulse.

Tom has a passion for exploring all genres and performs live sets covering a range of styles, however one strong theme always remains throughout – it’s always fun, funky, and intricately glitchy. Whether you want to pick and mix genres, go for a lucky dip or stick with a steady progression of just one style, you can be sure Tom will impress with a unique live performance.

His shows are energetic, interactive and truly live, constantly driving off the vibe of the dance floor and adapting appropriately to give the punters something to talk about well into the future.

Tom likes to take the performance one step further with various activities throughout his set, including silly face competitions, talking/interacting with the crowd, and most recently the Pirate Box, a small computer that emits a wifi network that anyone can connect to with their mobile device and download the music they are listening to right there on the dancefloor!

As well as performing, Tom has a great passion for teaching production and performance as he moves around the globe. He is New Zealand’s only Ableton Certified Trainer and often works with Ableton to promote, spread and give the gift of music production.

He teaches confidently all over the world including Russia, USA, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe.

Nicknamed the Ableton Guru, he manages a 13 thousand member strong interactive social media website with over 30 hours of self produced tutorial videos, lessons and downloadable resources, as well as hosting a thriving community forum where people can interact and collaborate.

EGORYTHMIA at the Dance Temple

Egorythmia is Boban Lazovski, from Skopje, Macedonia, and is a new comer in the Progressive Trance equation. He has a rockish background, loving bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Depeche Mode. After a while Lazovski felt drawn into the magical Psychedelic Trance world, with the main magnets that pulled him in like Cosma, Dark Soho, S-Range and The Delta. But as he entered deeper into the rabbit hole, he knew he couldn’t stay a passive listener, and so in 2000 he started to be a Dj and a party promoter. But like many other great artists who just discovered their creation forces, he started to get the itch, and the only way to deal with it was to start making music, so after experimenting with different projects in 2008 Egorythmia was born.

After polishing, experimenting and developing the new definition of auditory equations, Egorythmia released his first EP at Iono Music in 2008 called Night Sight. His fascination with the Progressive realms was mainly due to his ability to be flexible with the method he shaped, and add components such as House and Techno to bring his emotions and feelings to the highest score possible. Since that entrance to the Progressive Trance community, and the Iono Music Family, he released several more pearls and gems at various notable labels such as Iboga, Blue Tunes, Plusquam and Echoes.

It wasn’t long until the rest of the world was hooked to the Egorythmia phenomenon, and he performed at the top events in the globe, from Fusion festival (Germany), Spirit Base (Austria), Aurora (Greece) and Vuuv (Germany). Along the way he met other amazing artists which he collaborated with, including Ace Ventura , Zen Mechanics, Ritmo, Flegma & Nerso, Time in Motion, E-Clip and Zyce. With all these inspiration getting into his creative process, Lazovski tries to take special moments from each one and soon release his debut album.

SWARUP at the Dance Temple

It is a sign of a good DJ when you have difficult time on describing to others how he sounds like. With that said, Swarup, from Brazil, is one of the most difficult ones out there to explain. Armed with a potent combination of a vast musical background, wide knowledge of music, dj skills, great sense of dance floor, awareness of sub-genres of psy-trance and good taste, Swarup brings a sense of new dimension to the music he plays.

Based in Brazil, he is involved in the music scene for the last 2 decades. You can know him better for his project The First Stone (with Burn in Noise and Zumbi), the label Vagalume and as the organizer of the Universo Paralello festival.

HYPOGEO Live at the Alchemy Circle

HYPOGEO is Nicola Grigatti’s dark progressive project, already well known as COMA SECTOR, combo Darkpsy founded in 2004 together with his close friend Luca Folli (aka Anx-Void Controller).

After some years of fast and furious bpm Nicola feels he needs to wind down and begins creating tracks ranged between 130-140 bpm that immediately get the psychedelic, deep industrial make-up already developed with ComaSector, but now more mental and hypnotic.

This is a live recording of a special 2 hour live set at the Boom Festival 2012.

KLIMENT Live at the Ambient Source

Born in 1981, Kliment Dichev is a young Bulgarian composer and producer with more than 10 years of experience in various musical genres. Since 1999 he is actively involved into music production, and performing in his country, and starting from 2003 he is already receiving invitations for big European festivals such as Sziget, Boom, Ozora, Soulclipse, No man’s land, while his tracks are being played and released by many Djs, radios, labels and portals over the world. His unique live act experience unites different forms of electronic styles such as trance, house, tribal and minimal under the progressive vibration.

Characterized with a deep atmosphere and solid groove, Klim lifts up the crowd into an emotional journey on the dance floor.His side projects feature Kliment downtempo (ethnic ambient and idm), Once Upon A Time(psy trance solo project, debut album coming out in 2010), Samodelia (ethno electronic band) and Disham (minimal – techno duo).Beside electronic music, Kliment has also a wide experience in film score,theater and performance music, commercials and spots, sound design and field recording. His knowledge, skills and projects make him one of the renowned producers from Bulgaria, with numerous warm up gigs along world known artists such as Juno Reactor, Transglobal Underground, Banco de Gaia, Moshic, Vibrasphere, Son Kite, Atmos.
