Surging swells of creative energies have been building on our planet now for some time now. In the wake of these cosmic waves a culture has formed out of necessity for community building and shared expression.
Across the globe, humans are tapping into these creative currents and finding ways to channel these impulses into creative forms that can be exchanged and used to generate further inspiration. Festival culture has emerged in every continent, like the rise of early civilizations, and has been steadily building and gathering more and more momentum. The common thread that permeates all of the festivals over the world is music which has been the vehicle that has steered the evolution of the culture into what it is today.
Equally important are the visual arts which, like music, affect the senses in a deep, visceral level but activate the people in other areas of their being. Whereas music has the potential to generate a field allowing countless participants to unite their energies and transcend into deeper planes of being, art has the potential to provide direct access to those deeper planes through tangible relationship to those bridged dimensions. In crystallized, physical form, the visual arts including painting, sculpture,video, installation, etc., affect persons in ways music in its intangibility can not.
Together, these ways of expression in addition to other forms such as dance, theatre, poetry, and other performance arts, combine to create a synaesthetic experience that imparts powerful change deep within the human psyche.
For this reason, Boom 2012 has a strong emphasis on the visual arts and further explore the boundaries of these forms. The art will be expressive of this year’s theme of ALCHEMY. Thus, art pieces are created inspired by the many aspects of alchemy.
We are building on the work from past editions, evolving the dream, and pushing the envelope into novel terrain.
In Boom 2012, artists from across the globe are cocreating a cohesive conceptual vision to create continuity and unify the arts into a cultural experiment tearing fissures into hyperspace and activating creative portals in which cascades of creative energies will rain upon us all.
