We are lowering the ticket price as we live in an era in which the global psychedelic and alternative tribe must unite against an outdated system that has no future.
We can feel how the global financial collapse is affecting more and more people. This has however, strengthened our conviction more than ever to create a gathering that is inclusive. It has been sad for us to learn that so many people were prevented from participating at Boom 2010 because they did not have the money. We aim to abolish the financial speculation that stands as an obstacle to cultural fruition for those with fewer resources.
As a result, we have made some adjustments to the physical dimensions of the festival, lowering the price while maintaining the highest standards in comfort, art, environmental projects and the program itself. Expect a celebration that is going to radiate at the centre of the galaxy!
So the IMF strikes again; this time hitting Portugal as taxes rise from a mere 6 percent to a ludicrous 23 percent, hitting arts and cultural entities the worst. The insanity of this tax will make an impact on the livelihoods of thousands struggling to survive in this corrupt economy, particularly those in southern European countries. It is yet another example of how the people are being forced to pay for the greed-driven decisions made by fat cats who are rewarded rather than reprimanded for the mistakes they have made.
The new taxes are a major challenge for Boom. It means that we are unable to reduce the ticket price to the actual extent that we initially wanted to. We sincerely hope you understand. This is a year of activist dissent and right now, it is important that we stand strong together and support each other.
Boom is, and always will be, completely free of corporate sponsorship and is funded by ticket sales alone. We are a corporation-free festival, a zone of cognitive liberty that has grown organically by word of mouth. The Boom team dedicates its efforts to creating a parallel universe where you are the most important part.
By purchasing a Boom ticket, you will help serve the following purposes:
- Renting of the Boom Land (unfortunately we don’t own it!);
- Funding of three music areas, as well as the Healing and the Sacred Fire areas, a cultural area with lectures, presentations, workshops and an art gallery;
- Paying the fees of 1000 artists that will play and perform at Boom 2012;
- Payment of wages to 900 workers;
- Development of environmental projects including: water, sanitation, bio-construction, recycling, etc;
- Helping the curatorship of the art installations and performance art;
- Design and implementation of pre-production, production, post-production and the thousands of tasks that come with all this!;
- Building Boom from the scratch. Despite the fact we recycle and reuse many materials, building Boom in a compound of 150ha is a massive mission!;
- Creation of beautiful gardens with an Eden-like ambience;
- Building showers, toilets, water pipes, electric circuits and all the complex logistics involved with making the Boom venue a pleasant place;
- Building the new caravan park, camping area and car park;
- Developing an unforgettable week-long, eight-day program of incredible music, expression and psychedelic art across the various stages and small art zones…;
- And all the tiny details in between all this as we project our love to have you among us… Enjoy!
Note: Taking into account a daily estimate of the ticket price, the average price per day for First Phase ticket holders is €15; Second Phase ticket price works out at €17.50 per Boom day, and third Phase at an average of €20 per Boom day.

SOCIAL PRICING
We have created a Social Pricing rate for countries that have been undergoing the financial speculation of capitalist and non-ethical institutions such as rating agencies, banks and the IMF. We fully support all those that are occupying and struggling against the control matrix that is annihilating our cognitive freedom and our Sacred Earth.
The Boom Festival offers a special discount on 2nd and 3rd Phases for people that are living in: Portugal, Greece, Ireland and Spain.
These tickets are non-transferable and only available from your local ambassador. To receive this discount, please present your local ambassador with proof of your national residency within any of these countries (Portugal, Greece, Ireland or Spain).
BOOM AMBASSADOR
The Boom Festival family resides all over the world. There are 115 different ambassadors representing the festival in more than 50 countries.
An Ambassador is an individual or organisation that will provide you with all the information you need about the festival and will also sell festival tickets. Boom Ambassadors are the only people that can provide you with special Social Pricing and Friendly Price tickets.

As usual we have set ticket prices by taking into consideration the different economic realities of each country. We have a Friendly Price for people living in the denominated developing countries.
These tickets are non-transferable and only available from your local ambassador. To receive this discount, please present your local ambassador with proof of your national residency.

FREE BOOM TICKET
As an homage to the Mayan 2012 knowledge, all people living in Mexico and Guatemala, have a free Boom ticket!
To have your free entry, your local ambassador will require you to show a national residency proof and your registration. In’ Lakesh!
PARTICIPATORY BOOM TICKET – DEADLINE 10 MARCH 2012
Whether its high unemployment or low self-esteem in minimum wage jobs – the masses are paying for the mistakes of governments and the central banking system. Boom aims to fight this corrupt system and launched a special category of tickets for those who are either unemployed or on low income.
Applications for this ticket already closed. Thanks for all that participated and applied for it.
The results will be announced until end of May 2012.
BOOM BUS
The Boom Bus is a charter bus service for a safer, more comfortable and sustainable Boom experience. It is part of our environmental program as a public transport project, aiming to decrease CO2 emissions.
This service provides transport from Lisbon, Madrid, Paris and Grenoble directly to the festival and possible connection with the After Boom. In 2010 we helped transport 3,500 boomers on the Boom Bus. It was a great experience, and this year we are geared up to improving the Boom Bus service even more.
Just as the last edition, the Boom Bus will arrive at the festival venue one day before the official gates open. This means you can choose the best spot to camp, decompress from your journey around the lake and absorb the enigma of the Portuguese countryside, which embedded with epic structures of art, remind us that the magic has just begun… BOOM LOVE TO ONE AND ALL.
AFTER BOOM UTOPIA
A limited capacity event, the After Boom Utopia is the perfect way to have a nice party after the Boom experience. Held in a fresh forest in a National Park region, the After Boom Utopia brings together music, healing and art.
The first day will be a healing day. We want our participants to relax and decompress from all strong emotions that they had at Boom. Therapists and healers will make a public service to everyone. Don’t forget the reservation onsite.
DJs, bands, performers and live acts will act together in a stream of creativity to make people dance and laugh. There are new ideas from previous editions, stay tuned in this website.
Utopia After Boom tickets will be available online and at Boom Festival Info Stand. These are the prices to get in this magical gathering.
