Ticket Resale Platform

Ticket Resale/Buying Platform TicketSwap Available for Boom Tickets

With the rescheduling of Boom 2020/2021 to 22 - 29 July 2022 (New Moon) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re sensitive to the condition of Boomers who cannot make it to the festival next year. At the same time there’s requests for ticket purchases.

On 3 May 2021, we’re enabling a Boom Festival TicketSwap page to allow tickets to be resold and purchased in a safe, quick and simple way.

This platform is external to Boom and operates on a peer-to-peer, decentralised model - meaning that it gives the opportunity to another Boomer to experience a once-in-a-lifetime moment: the celebration of Boom Festival’s 25th birthday in 2022.

Boom is free from state and corporate advertising, sponsorship and investment. By placing your ticket on TicketSwap instead of asking for a refund, you’re contributing to the festival’s survival and mind-blowing 25th anniversary edition, for all of the community to experience.

It is thanks to your continuous love and support that Boom continues to thrive for more than two decades. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets purchased for Boom 2020 are automatically valid for Boom 2022.

    21. What are the conditions in order to buy a Friendly Ticket?
    • We have a Friendly Price for people living in countries with specific economic realities. Along its more than two decades of history, Boom has applied this non-discriminatory policy of inclusivity, so as to give residents of countries with lower levels of economic indicators the opportunity to experience the Boom Festival. In doing so, Boom aims at the democratisation of access to culture.
    • Boom Festival’s Friendly ticket prices are based on objective, economical criteria, such as: minimum wage per country; GDP per capita; and purchasing power in countries benefiting from the “Friendly” discount compared with other economic realities. We source this information on the websites of Eurostat, UNDP, Statista and Pordata
    • Only Boomers who are eligible for Friendly Price Tickets (find the list of eligible countries below) may purchase a Friendly Price Ticket from TicketSwap.

    Friendly Price tickets apply to the following countries & territories:

    • Portugal;
    • Greece;
    • All of Africa
    • Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, excluding Australia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates;
    • Mexico, Caribbean, Central and South America;
    • Central and Eastern Europe: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bielorussia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia / FYROM, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

    IMPORTANT: If you purchase a Friendly Price Ticket and are not eligible to do so, you will not be able to enter Boom 2022, as this information is cross-checked at the gates.

    22. I want to resell a ticket or service, to which account will I receive my money?

    You may define to which account/card number you wish to receive the payment for the ticket you have sold on TicketSwap.

    23. I just sold my ticket and/or service, when will I receive payment?
    • TicketSwap is a third-party platform with whom Boom Festival has partnered up to facilitate ticket resales among Boomers.
    • Please check the information available on the official TicketSwap website for more information.
    • If you can’t come to Boom in 2022, consider placing your ticket and acquired services to be resold on TicketSwap, instead of asking for a refund. We’re a 100% independent festival, which means that ticket and/or services refunds puts the festival at existential risk. When the resale process happens on the TicketSwap platform, the funds for Boom 2022 remain secured to be invested in the festival production, to create a magical experience for the whole Boom community.
    • Keep a critical mind. Look for varied and credible sources of information to form your own opinions. The world needs conscious citizens to create societies that’ll bring values of solidarity, democracy, justice and respect of the environment when we start living in the post-Covid-19 world.
    • Make a donation to our organisation:
    • By not asking for a ticket refund - in case you cannot attend Boom in 2022. Not making Boom happen this year puts us in a critical situation that places our survival at risk. We’ve got 30 people on a monthly payroll, there’s daily costs associated with Boomland’s environment regeneration projects, there’s also hundreds of culture professionals in our wider team, plus the need of keeping funds to actually produce the festival. We have not remained unharmed by Covid-19 and we’re living in very complex times. All support is welcome.
    • By donating to Boomland a sum to help us pay the remaining amount of the loan we took to purchase it. Follow the instructions on this link if you wish to do so. In 2016 we managed to acquire this magical land but we’re still falling short on payment. Failing to make Boom happen creates lack of cash flow. We are deeply grateful for any contribution you may provide to help us follow our purpose of human transformation and ecosystem regeneration.
    • Don’t contribute to the waste avalanche caused by the pandemic. Disposable plastic is making a strong comeback due to fear of Covid-19. Masks invade our streets and pollute the oceans. Act responsibly.
    • Help the cultural and creative sectors thrive by supporting independent artists, organisations and associations. Be on the lookout for anyone around you who may need assistance - a family member, a neighbour, a friend, and even a stranger.
    • Be kind to yourself. Stay healthy. Remain vigilant around authorities but also YouTube-specialists: This pandemic has brought to light excessive oppression, invasion of basic freedoms, incompetence on the part of leaderships in dealing with the unknown. But it also highlighted the importance of health, scientific knowledge, ancestral wisdom, of looking at the Earth as an interdependent system; and it made evident the dangers of outlandish theories and visions.

    We remain present through [email protected] in case you’ve got any doubt or if you wish to share your impressions with us.

    • The Boom Festival economic model does not entail any sort of sponsorship. We’re profoundly sensitive to the condition of Boomers, and we’ve found a solution to help Boomers who wish to resell or purchase tickets.
    • The fastest and most simple way to obtain a refund is via TicketSwap, which we launched on 3 May 2021.
    • This platform is external to Boom and operates on a peer-to-peer, decentralised model - meaning that it gives the opportunity to another Boomer to experience a once-in-a-lifetime moment: the celebration of Boom Festival’s 25th birthday in 2022.
    • Boom Festival exists thanks to your support via ticket purchase. If you cannot come to Boom in the summer of 2022, TicketSwap is the fastest, simplest solution and the one which carries the least negative consequences for the development of the festival. Resale through TicketSwap allows us, Boom Team, to safeguard these funds to produce the 25th anniversary edition of Boom in 2022.
    • Direct ticket refunds are made on the basis of Decree-Law no. 26-A / 2021 of 5 April 2021. This proceeds to the fifth amendment to Decree -Law no. 10 -I / 2020, of 26 March, as amended by Laws 7/2020, of April 10, and 19/2020, of May 29, and by Decrees - Laws No. 78 -A / 2020, of September 29, and 6 -E / 2021, of January 15th, which establishes exceptional and temporary measures to respond to the pandemic of the disease COVID -19 in the cultural and artistic scope in Portugal, especially regarding the shows that didn’t take place.
    • According to Decree-Law, in Article 5c:
      1. The rescheduling of shows, festivals and shows of a similar nature initially scheduled for the year 2020 and occurring only in 2022, obliges the refund of the ticket price to the respective holder, under the terms of the following paragraphs.
      2. The ticket holder is entitled to request the return of the respective price within 14 working days from the date scheduled for the event in the year 2021.
      3. The holder of a voucher issued with an expiration date until December 31, 2021 is entitled to request a refund of its value within 14 working days after the expiration of the respective voucher.
      4. In the absence of a refund request, within the deadlines referred to in paragraphs 2 and 3, it is considered that the holder of the ticket or voucher accepts the rescheduling of the show, festival or show of a similar nature without the right to a refund of the respective value, applying the provisions of article 4 and in paragraphs 4 to 11 of article 5-A, with the necessary adaptations, namely:

        a) The vouchers are valid until December 31, 2022;
        b) Rescheduled shows must take place by December 31, 2022.
    • Thus, this form of reimbursement can be requested from the 22nd of July 2021 until the 10th of August 2021.
    • Follow this link to request a refund.
    • After this period, and if there is no refund request, the ticket holder accepts the rescheduling of the festival but can continue using the TicketSwap platform.
