Boom Guide
HEALTH & SAFETY
Be a Savvy Boomer
We want to help you enjoy all that Boomland has to offer, but remember your time at Boom is not a sprint. Sleep as much as is humanly possible, eat well and pace yourself – you'll lose out if you don't. But don't forget to take care of each other. You're all in this together, after all.
This is an immersive transformative experience built on the foundations of community. Let's keep the dynamic flowing, and be a savvy Boomer.
Please read the below information carefully.
BODY
- If you see anyone sleeping under the boiling hot sun, please wake them up immediately.
- Drink water constantly. Electrolytes can also be helpful for hydration.
- Use quality eco-friendly sunscreen at all times during the day.
-
Sleep during the day in the shade to recharge your battery. Without adequate sleep, you'll be running on empty.
-
Take your time. Boom is a week-long festival, so there's absolutely no need to work at top speed on the first night. Instead, lean into the mellow, meditative and chilled out aspects of Boom. Work gradually towards the climax in a slow and conscious fashion, with intention.
-
Pack a hat, light clothing, and a cloth or scarf to dampen and keep you cool.
-
Never swim in the lake on your own or under the influence of anything. Stick to the designated swimming areas.
-
We highly recommend investing in some ear protection too, or at least take breaks from the music to give your precious ears a rest.
MIND
- We have been at the forefront of psychedelic culture for over 30 years and your emotional welfare is extremely important to us.
- Avoiding alcohol and the scorching heat is a good place to start while we are proud have worked with harm reduction pioneers Kosmicare for over 20 years.
- Boom Medical Services are also here for you: checking in on your welfare, offering psychedelic support and a safe harbor, always without judgment. Under strict legality.
FIRE
- Boomland is a high risk area, especially in the summer when temperatures rise and the vegetation is dry. Therefore it is absolutely forbidden to make any fires – no campfires, no candles, no incense, no cooking flames at your camp.
- Absolutely no gas canisters. There are community kitchens should you be the mood for cooking.
- Put your cigarette butts in your pocket ashtray. Never on the ground.
- We ask all Boomers to be mindful and identify extinguishers across the site.
- During the festival, there are firefighters on site 24/7. We will release a map with their location closer to the festival.
- There are also medical services available 24/7. As above – we will release a map closer to the festival.
BOUNDARIES & CONSENT
- Consent is sacred. Ask before you touch. Respect every body, every boundary, every 'no'.
- Yes, nudity is an integral part of human self-expression and there is an ethos of no judgement at Boom. However, it is prohibited to interfere with nudity – anyone capturing images or annoying anyone will be immediately presented to authorities.
Thank you for thinking of others and for being your beautiful self.
