2017 was an intense year for Octa Push, featuring their latest work 'Lingua' and stepping onto several stages, namely the renown SBSR, Bons Sons, Vodafone Paredes de Coura, MED or even the Belém Art Fest, also appearing in Eurosonic, Gent or Brussels.
2018 will know new EP's and a new single.
The project blends lusophone music with PALOP connections, with electronic sounds. Founded by the two brothers Leo and Bruno, from Carcavelos/Lisbon, Octa Push has played into countless venues and festivals and have released original themes on labels such as Soul Jazz Records, Soundway Records, Iberian Records, Enchufada, as well as being backed up by names like SBTRKT, Thom Yorke (Radiohead) or Gilles Peterson (BBC).
'Lingua', an album almost entirely in portuguese, an album put together in honour to all the lusophone music that has been made for the past 40 years. It's about communicating, claiming, screaming! It counts with guests such as Tó Trips (Dead Combo), Batida, Cachupa Psicadélica, Cátia Sá (ex-Guta Naki), Maria João Grancha, Ary (Blasted Mechanism), João Gomes (Orelha Negra) , Braima Galissa, Alex (Terrakota), AF Diaphra, Gospel Collective, among others. The 10 themes are at the crossroads between electronica music, semba, morna, funaná, afrohouse and MPB.
