Agnese is a shiatsu operator from Italy, now based in Lisbon. She studied theatre, thinking that it would allow her to live many lives and to develop herself. After the Art and Literature University, she joined the circus school “Cirko Vertigo” in Torino, while following the aikido master Paolo Spagone. By gaining more physical consciousness, she felt the need of getting spiritual consciousness too. Her aim to grow could be reached better with a spiritual journey, connecting with people and helping them.
She joined the European Shiatsu Institute of Torino and provided Shiatsu to the pilgrims in the Santiago’s way. She then moved to Berlin, opened "Ani shiatsu Berlin" and travelled while working to California, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Hungary. In 2015 she started to participate in festivals like Ozora, Be-in and Boom.
In October 2017, Agnese moved to Lisbon and opened “Ani Shiatsu Lisboa”.
Shiatsu, which means "finger pressure", is a holistic healing art that was developed in Japan. It works by balancing the body's energy (ki), which moves through the body in channels known as meridians. It is experienced fully clothed as a whole body massage, and is traditionally performed on a futon. It involves palm and finger pressure, rotations, stretches and gentle holding.
Shiatsu massage acts to promote relaxation, structural alignment, balance and increased self-awareness.
Masunaga's zen shiatsu specifically works mostly on the meridian's functions. That means balancing the emotional and spiritual features connected with each meridian.
Shiatsu is an exchange between two beings who share the same present moment together, which works on the physical, emotional and spiritual level. It's a way to develop and evolve ourselves by connecting with other souls.
