DJ Shahar is well known throughout the electronic, chill out & dance music world. He's been dancing outdoor to weird sounds since 1989. He's been reviewing and writing about electronic, dance music and chill out music in countless websites and magazines worldwide (currently managing content at Trancentral & Chill Space), and very quickly ventured to take part in the other side of things- DJing and compiling compilations in various labels around the world. In the last 15 years Shahar has turned his focus more and more to chill out and downtempo electronica. He's been DJing all over the world in underground nature parties, known clubs & lounge bars, and major international festivals (among them: Boom Festival, SUN Festival, Doof Festival, Tribal Gathering, Tree of Life Festival, Expo Festival, Soulclipse Festival) and has also managed chillout stages in festivals.
He established, in partnership with Yaniv of the Shulman project, the label Aleph Zero, the first Israeli chill out & downtempo electronica label, that has proved to be a sign of quality and its releases has drawn unanimous praising reviews and have been a success around the world- in the USA, Canada, Japan and around Europe. They have even been favorably reviewed in leading newspapers such as The New York Times & Japan Times. He’s also been running Beats & Pieces Records, devoted to more eclectic electronic music.
His sets supply a unique experience as he prefers to play long 6-12 hours sets (aiming eventually to do a 24hrs set), where he uses his vast musical background of more than 30 years of collecting and listening to music to play diverse sets that combine, besides the more usual chill out played at parties, also elements of ethnic music (from Mongolia through India to the Balkans), psychedelic pieces from the colorful past (from Pink Floyd to Ozric Tentacles), diverse electronica, and a lot of spacey dubby beats. Blending all these, Shahar delivers a diverse mind intriguing experience sure to make the mind fly while the body relaxes or grooves slowly. Shahar's musical case has the best of old and new to offer including fresh unreleased material from the Aleph Zero house and other major labels and artists.
