Animato VS Ticon (1H Set)

Animato VS Ticon (1H Set)

A site specific set for Boom Festival 2018

Animato

Patrick Chen (formerly known as PTX) reinvented himself as Animato, with a new style bordering on the delicate meeting point of modern progressive psytrance. The new project came to life as the natural next step to take. Having travelled across the globe for many years, while attending countless festivals, Animato has first-hand experience of what the psychedelic dance floor means. After a few years of working in studios and on the stages of Boom Festival, Burning Man, Dreamstate, Psy Fi and many more, Animato’s long journey within the field of consciousness has been summarised in his masterpiece debut album “Harmonize”, featuring guest appearances by Liquid Soul, Freedom Fighters, Ritmo, Perfect Stranger and Ticon & Sonic Species. Referred to as a ‘book of memories’, the album allows one to dive deeper into the hypnotic sounds and feel the spiritual experiences which arise from a blend of styles collected all over the world.

Ticon

The Ticon grooves is born from the friendship between Filip Mardberg and Fredrik Gilenholt and their mutual interest in underground dance music. Around 1999, they got their first gig to play in a true studio and out of it came the track “Mona Bone”, nowadays considered a Ticon classic, but most importantly, a track which marked their first steps into the path they were looking for. After several successful releases, their spot among respected trance producers was guaranteed. As things progressed, along with the acquiring of the Noze Noize Studio, both Filip and Fredrik have been able to quit their day jobs to solely focus on their music and are currently involved in several projects, namely Disco Science Alliance (to bridge over to a clubbier style of tech house), Qlap (a fusion with Son Kite), as well as a currently nameless downbeat project and a pop experiment. So far, the duo has been making crowds happy from Australia to Mexico, Japan, and numerous festivals such as VOOV, Samothraki and Fusion.
