EARTH BODY MEDICINE: ECO-SOMATIC MOVEMENT AND ENERGY PRACTICE
A practice to awaken the body and reconnect it with Nature and the inner self, in a workshop where conscious movement as well as organic dance will be explored.
We are Nature, Nature is Us. We have a body which is interconnected with all Life and all of life’s processes (birth, life, death, transformation, regeneration). Nature is pure consciousness, it is soul expressed into form, ever sustaining each of us. She speaks to us about energy in eternal flow, about the complementarity of opposites and its vital importance for balance (day/night, feminine/masculine, light/shadow). Ancient cultures danced as a spiritual practice. Dance and song are living, active prayers – dynamic meditations that honour the core of silent freedom and take you beyond roles, into the essence of Being.
From this space we move in the world and in all our relationships in Love and truth. The body is a map of your life’s experience; validate it, it’s a precious book of wisdom. With its “cans” and “can’ts”, it moves along – like trees do in the wild woods, carved from strong winters and fruitful springs. Let it be; move in full power from within – listen, observe, act, be silent. Let soil and soul recognize each other and celebrate their oneness.
In this workshop, we will work with conscious movement, organic dance, deep ecology through bodywork, breath and voicing. A practice to begin the day, awakening the body and develop our ability to listen and relate openly.
Iris Lican (Bio)
Iris is a Dance Artist, Yoga teacher, Doula, Therapist , Medicine Woman, activist, author, researcher and collector of Sacred Feminine traditions and practices.
Besides that, she is a mother, woman, sister, lover, companion, friend, and mostly a being at the absolute service of all beings. As did the ancestors, she believes that the artist, the healer, the philosopher and the shaman are one, in dynamic integrity. This is the basis of her work – be it bodywork, ritual, birth or soul journeys.
Iris weaves her practices from conscious listening, aware presence and the power of creation of relationships with all, in a cyclical dance of shadow and light wherein the wild potential of undifferentiated body and soul reveals itself, allowing us to rediscover and reinvent ourselves, our life, and the collective experience.
