Who Is Here Now? Becoming Present To Allow The Future To Emerge

Who Is Here Now? Becoming Present To Allow The Future To Emerge

WHO IS HERE NOW? BECOMING PRESENT TO ALLOW THE COLLECTIVE FUTURE TO EMERGE

“The success of an intervention depends on the interior condition of the intervener” - Billy O'Brien

In this inner activism workshop, Rita will create the opportunity to become aware of our own inner structures and open up the possibility to allow the future to emerge.

As the festival is just starting, we are presented with the possibility of becoming aware of who we are bringing to the celebration, who are we in this moment? What do we contribute with? In this interactive workshop we will become aware of the “biggest collective blind spot”, which is who are we in each moment? For the impact of an action strongly depends on the inner condition of the one who is performing it.

Becoming present to our inner conditions opens the possibility of being fully responsible – and therefore determines whether our current actions are “carrot times” or “emergent future times”: “Carrot times“ have a goal that drives the entire action, and are executed through evaluating outcomes. While “emergent future times” are the ones in which we are connected with the river of the Tao through allowing our body/mind to express itself.  To presence ourselves in this connected way we need to shine light on our blind spots.

In this inner activism workshop, Rita will create the opportunity to become aware of our own inner structures and open up the possibility to allow the future to emerge…

Rita Venturini (Bio)

Rita is trained as a scientist (MD and MSc Cognitive Science) and as a mover/improviser (Laban Movement Analysis, Authentic Movement, Contact Improvisation, Action Theater). She has always been interested in bodies and interactions.

How do bodies interact with the world (social and natural)? What impulses help us to connect with Self and others?

After being a visiting scientist/improviser at the Champalimaud Center for the Unknown for the last 6 years, Rita is now fully back on being a facilitator of embodied experiences at the Blue Studio in Lisbon.
