Minga, is an Integral Cooperative, meaning, that it aims to include all the activities that matter for daily life (production, housing, energies, agriculture, health, etc).
It promotes an economy based on proximity, having a shop for local producers, trying to easen the life of artisans, farmers, services providers, and promoting collaboration between them. It brings as well environmental and social concerns by following organic farming or fair trade principles, for example.
Minga means in Latin American "collective work action", and in portuguese is a form of the verb "to degrow", alluding to the principles of degrowth, consume less, reuse, buy local, participate in society, etc. Minga was founded in July 2015 and is located in the Montemor-o-Novo, Alentejo, Portugal.

How to run an Integral Cooperative? Introduction to legal, theoretical and practical aspects. In this workshop Minga will provide a framework divided into four sections: agriculture, commercialization, housing, services to run a cooperative. They will share the key aspects based on the experience of running an Integral Cooperative since 2015 in Montemor-o-Novo, Alentejo.
