As an unexperienced internet-user you are very vulnerable to surveillance. But there are many ways to protect yourself and fight back. This workshop will explain how your online-behavior is being tracked by secret services, the silicon valley and the ad-industry and will give you some tools and tips to avoid it, like email-Encryption, secure Messengers and the right browser-plugins. Markus Beckedahl started netzpolitik.org ten years ago as an activist for digital rights. Netzpolitik.org has been grown to one of the biggest and most known blogs in Germany. He co-founded Digitale Gesellschaft (@digiges) as a campaigning platform for digital rights.
Netzpolitik.org is a German language blog on digital rights and digital culture. Among other topics, it covers mass surveillance, open source software, data protection and privacy and net neutrality. The blog was founded in 2002 by Markus Beckedahl, who still leads the project today, supported by more than 30 other contributors.
