WORKSHOP Activist Media DIY
Shooting impactful activist videos on shoestring with Rainbow Collective.
After more than a decade producing independent and broadcast documentaries and supporting social justice and workers’ rights around the world, Rainbow Collective are now training activists to produce their own films using nothing more than a mobile phone.
In Cambodia, Bangladesh, Spain and the UK, they have mentored trade unions, workers collectives, radical poitical groups and homeless shelters to produce their own impactful campaign videos with whatever resources they have available. In this workshop, Rainbow Collective Directors Hannan Majid and Richard York will provide a practical hands-on guide on how to get the most out of the tech at your disposal to shoot, edit and distribute film for social change. Bring a phone, camera or whatever you have with you!
