Boom Toolkit for Covid-19 #9: Reflections on Sustainability, Festivals & Covid-19
A Greener Festival co-founder Claire O'Neill talks Covid-19 impacts on sustainability measures
Plastics and disposables are making a comeback with the pandemic. Materials like single-use plastic materials and equipments are given preference over reusables as a necessary precaution against infection. Social distancing, on the other hand, has changed the way populations travel.
Claire O’Neill is the co-founder and director of A Greener Festival, a not-for-profit organisation that helps festivals, events and venues around the globe to become more sustainable. In the most recent episode of the Boom Toolkit for Covid-19, we get her reflections on how this worldwide health crisis has impacted sustainability measures in festivals and cities, and what citizens can do to take action.
