October Update

Boom Karuna Project in Africa video release, application deadlines reminder, and more

We’re 10 full moons from Boom 2020 and while it’s meant to be autumn, it doesn’t exactly feel like it…

The dark side of the Anthropocene is in full swing. The rain is meant to replenish the terrain with colours of the season, but instead, Portugal is experiencing yet another drought, while the soil itself continues to be ravaged by intense methods of farming across the country.

In the meantime, we continue to explore new thoughts, insights and ideas for the production of Boom’s 13th edition. Program, structures, art, facilities, new compost toilet models, innovative plans: they’re all taking shape as we speak.

Your ticket is helping to make this happen. Thank you so much! In fact, the rapid rate at which tickets sold out keeps reinforcing the trust you have placed in us and of the responsibility that lies ahead to ensure we exceed expectations.

limited capacity festival allows us to do this so that we can realistically build the kind of infrastructure that will cater for both mankind and nature.

In other news… We’re using ticket sale revenues to help manifest positive social change. It’s something we aimed for in the aftermath of Boom 2018 when we took the Karuna Project to the African archipelago of São Tomé and Príncipe. Take a look at our little video and discover how we did it…
