The entire Boomland site is one giant, ever-evolving regeneration project.

Between 2010 and 2025, over 1,500 trees and thousands of shrubs were planted following agroecology and permaculture principles – the sustainable agricultural movement that is built on three core tenets: Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share.

We have been engaging in yearly reforestation campaigns since we moved to Idanha-a-Nova in 2010. Between 2023–2025, 207 trees and 343 shrubs/aromatics were planted. Around 34 tonnes of organic compost was reused for reforestation and care. Over 3,200 planted units and 86 endemic species were introduced.

What's more, water from our on-site showers and water treatment basin is used to nourish the forest.

Reforestation provides multiple benefits to the environment, including clear air, shade and vital habitats for wildlife. You can see a list of tree species we have planted at Boomland below.
