Here are 15 items of news, goals and updates that await you in 2027 and over the coming months:

1. The 16th edition of the Boom Festival takes place 18–25 July 2027. During that full moon it marks 30 years of the festival: the first edition took place between 14–16 August 1997, in the mythical magic forest of Herdade do Zambujal. Who was there?

2. You can watch the history of the first 20 years (1997–2017) in this documentary which was featured in a list by Vice Portugal magazine as one of the most important music documentaries in the country in the 21st century.
3. Boom is a global community. As a way of saying thank you to this wonderful human mass, the Guest Country has a special gratitude initiative: we're not just choosing one country, but two countries per continent, for a total of 10 countries who will be invited as Guests!
4. Guest Country 2027: There is a total limit of 500 free tickets to Boom 2027. They will be distributed among 2 countries from Europe; 2 from Africa; 2 from Asia; 2 from the Americas; and 2 from Oceania. Will your country be the one chosen? 5. Winter at Boomland: We had storms, floods, and damage, but we also worked on maintenance of structures. We built a female urinal with hemp, new camping swales for short term staff, and new camping zones. Plus, we started a brand new regeneration project: the Green Corridor around the Dance Temple. Like nature, we never stop working to make the land beautiful for you.

6. There will be fewer tickets available in 2027 compared to Boom 2025. In 2027 Boom remains a limited capacity event to make sure the balance between nature and human presence is maintained. We have been selling out since 2014 (without line-up announcements). We suggest planning ahead if you want to secure your ticket. More information will be available after this summer. 7. We have set two objectives for the official programme: first, 70% new artists compared to 2025 at the following stages: Dance Temple, Alchemy Circle, The Gardens, Sacred Fire, and Liminal Village. We also aim to maintain or increase our gender representation goals for the entire programme. In 2025, we had 44% women and 56% men (a major achievement in festival line-ups worldwide).
8. We are also making some adjustments to the running times of the official programme in 2027. We want to ensure a good balance between celebration and rest, and the possibility of enjoying as much of the Boom experience as possible. Get ready for grounding mornings, magnificent nights, and epic sunsets…
9. We are independent; we don't accept sponsors and we are one of the few festivals in the world that publicly publish its financial data. As part of our transparency policy, our Financial Report will be published on the new Boom website after summer 2026.

10. Beyond Boom: It can feel overwhelming to live in a world where extremist regimes are influencing planetary harmony. Because we cannot change power structures, our focus is on the human being. Through the Boom Karuna Project, we have supported humanitarian projects over the years. In 2024/25, one of these projects was the Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) mission in Gaza, which had been targeted by oppressive regimes (either internally or externally, in this case with the support of Western powers). DWB have missions worldwide; you can also contribute on their website. Only love brings love.
11. The new Boomland website: Boomland, the site of the festival, is a sacred land which opens to the public on special occasions. It has a permanent art collection unique in the world, an unparalleled vibration, and a daily process of environmental regeneration. This is all thanks to your support!

12. Summer season: The Iberian Peninsula finally has a regular psychedelic scene. Alongside the Portuguese psy scene, which has been running for more than 30 years, a growing number of festivals are now taking place in Spain. This summer, the tribe is converging at Sizigia Eclipse in Spain in August, to mark the solar eclipse. In addition, we are hosting the Being Gathering from 1–5 July at Boomland (see below for more details).
13. Boomland is active this summer: The Being Gathering is a beautiful small scale festival from the Boom Festival team. From 1–5 July, it returns, with over 180 hours of programming and a diverse line-up of more than 100 artists, therapists, and facilitators. We offer you a transformational journey unfolding from workshops to ecstatic dance, sound healing or psytrance DJ sets. The programme runs from morning to midnight. Join us for this collective homecoming.

14. The Boomland School is offering courses too. Psytrance is growing and interest in our scene is exploding. Therefore we are presenting more music courses at Boomland: From 23 to 28 September, E-Clip is mentoring the 3rd edition of the Psytrance Music Production Course. And the first edition at our sacred ground of the Parvati Records Production Workshop, led by Petran, from 17 to 22 October.
