At Boom, we are committed to supporting fresh talent and giving independent projects a platform to shine.

Boom Festival 2025 featured 187 programme slots across our four main music areas: Dance Temple (61 slots), Alchemy Circle (47 slots), Sacred Fire (26 slots) and The Gardens (53 slots).

Crucially, last year's programme tells an interesting story of renewal: around 85% of the artists at Dance Temple had not taken part in the previous edition. The same goes for 89% at Alchemy Circle, 92% at Sacred Fire and 91% at The Gardens.

Renewal runs deep in other ways too: 42% of all acts were performing at Boom for the first time, and 65% of bookings were independent artists rather than agency rosters.

Another figure we are proud of is gender balance, with women representing 43.6% of the official programme across all areas - something quite rare among festivals worldwide. 

Boom 2027 is set to build on this trajectory. We will not lower this level of renewal. 

For 2027, we are also inviting a higher proportion of local and international artists under 30, as we look to harness the energy and enthusiasm of younger Boomers.
