CALL FOR PERFORMERS FROM SERBIA, CROATIA, SPAIN, AND PORTUGAL– “EMERGENCY EXIT” by La Fura dels Baus and EXIT Foundation

Also performed at Sea Star Festival in Umag, Croatia second half of May 2026 and in Barcelona, Spain (venue and date still to be confirmed)

La Fura dels Baus and Foundation EXIT are looking for bold, committed, and physically expressive performers   to take part in the EMERGENCY EXIT, a large-scale immersive show premiering at EXIT Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, and at Boom Festival in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal in July 2025, and performing again at the Sea Star Festival in Umag, Croatia in May 2026, and in Barcelona, Spain in summer 2026. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a powerful environmental spectacle that combines music, movement, aerial choreography and visceral storytelling—performed in the heart of the crowd for thousands of spectators.

We are casting 2 groups (group A and B, see below) of 20 artists each contained from:

2 Contemporary Dancers

• With strong technical background in contemporary dance
• Comfortable with improvisation and expressive/physical acting
• Experience with aerial work or rigging systems is a plus (not required)

18 Physical Theatre Performers (Actors/Actresses)

• Background in physical or devised theatre, movement-based performance, or performance art
• Strong presence, coordination and stamina
• Ability to work in non-traditional, outdoor, or large-scale performance spaces
• Open to immersive/audience-interactive work
• Aerial or vertical performance experience is a plus (some performers will be involved in elevated choreography)

GROUP A: Artists from Serbia and Croatia who will perform at EXIT Festival in 2025 (Serbia) and at Sea Star Festival (Croatia) in 2026

GROUP B: Artists from Spain and Portugal performing at Boom Festival (Portugal) in 2025, and in Barcelona (Spain) in 2026.

WHAT WE OFFER

• A paid engagement – 250 euros per performance including rehearsals (gross amount)
• Travel and accommodation for these who need, and meals covered during rehearsals and performance times.
