How the Boom Festival 2027 visual identity came together
Every edition of Boom Festival invites an artist to conceptualise our new visual identity.
2027's theme is Psychedelic Renaissance, and we worked with Porto-based digital artist and muralist Camila Nogueira.
Women creators and collaborators are a vital part of Boom, representing 43.6% of the official programme across all areas at Boom 2025. Artists like Camila help deepen our relationship with a younger generation of women in the Boom community, who have been cultivating their own connections to the festival.
A Boomer for years, Camila drew on her own experiences of the festival to build a vibrant artistic universe teeming with dragonflies, unicyclists, fairies, fire dancers, dancing mushrooms and much more.
Camila's bold colour palette nods to the purple and blue hues of the Dance Temple – the heartbeat of the festival – and enlivened by a psychedelic neon green in tribute to Boom's connection with nature. "Boom's mantras are hidden throughout Boomland, and the idea is for the piece to be discovered little by little, much like Boom itself," she told us.
Her characters represent "freedom, love, and a sense of humour" – things Camila has found herself at the festival over the years – while her illustrations and visual language pay tribute to the togetherness of Boom; the interconnectedness of psychedelic culture, where forests, creatures, people all live in harmony as one.
