Boom is a gathering rooted in the spirit of connection, and transformation. Following the essence of the psychedelic trance experience, it invites us to a sacred state, to dissolve the ego, transcend conventional identities based on country, or culture. And awaken a deep sense of belonging: to the universe, to nature, and to one another. It is a celebration of peace and of our human ability to co-create a space free from the constraints of dominant culture.
As we approach the date of our gathering, here’s the ABC Guide to the Boom State of Mind - a warm invitation to dive into a few meaningful aspects of the Boom culture.
 

A - Awareness: Feel the energy of Boomland. Be present with every sound, every step, every encounter. Awareness is the root of transformation.

B - Boomland: This sacred land is alive. Care for it. Walk lightly. Honour the ecosystems, the trees, the lake - everything that hosts us.

C - Countries: We are humbled and deeply grateful - Boom 2025 sold out before a single programme announcement. From 169 countries across the world, you are coming together to co-create a unique celebration of art, culture and consciousness. This is more than a festival - it is a global culture. A community. And you are its heartbeat.

D - Dance: In psytrance culture we dance like no one is watching. Because the dancefloor is our home. Move your body. Release your mind. Laugh. Be one with the music, with others, and nature. Let the rhythm be your medicine.

E - Environment: Our environmental programme is rooted in permaculture and regenerative design. We believe that a festival can be more than a celebration - it can be a living example of how to care for the Earth. Learn more, get involved, and help us show that together we can nurture psychedelic culture for a new planetary consciousness.

F - Freedom: At the heart of the festival spirit is the freedom to be - to dance, express, create, with kindness and respect, and connect without fear of judgment. Every person at the festival brings a unique light. But freedom is also a responsibility. Let us protect it with empathy, care, and mutual respect.

G - Gandhi’s Legacy: Non-violence is not weakness - it is wisdom. It is strength. As we gather to celebrate life and connection, we hold close the truth that many around the world are facing immense suffering. From the Middle East to Africa, Eastern Europe to under-reported corners of the globe, violence continues to shape the lives of millions. We mourn the loss of innocent lives. That humanity still struggles to resolve its differences peacefully is a tragedy. Festivals offer a glimpse of another way - where compassion outweighs hatred, and unity transcends division. 

May our gathering be a living reminder that peace is possible.

H - Healing: Boom is a portal for inner work. Enter gently. Rest, feel, grow, release. Healing begins when we see one another in the shared vulnerability of being human. In a world that aches, healing starts with recognising suffering in all its forms, rejecting dehumanisation, and choosing love.

I - Independent: We are an independent organisation based in Portugal. Boom exists thanks to you - your presence, your belief, your support. And for that, we are profoundly grateful. We accept no corporate sponsorship. As a gesture of transparency and respect, we’re proud to be one of the few festivals in the world that publicly shares its financial accounts. J - Joy: Give yourself permission to feel joy. Even in hard times, joy is an act of resilience.

K - Kindness: Offer a smile. Lend a hand. Share your water. Look into someone’s eyes. Dance together. Give hugs and kisses. Kindness multiplies in Boomland.
 

 

L - Love: Love Has No Flag is a campaign we started in 2012. At Boom, we invite you to awaken your universal self - beyond identity, nation, or border. Unlike commercial festivals or mass sporting events, national flags are not part of Boom culture. They create separation, and we seek unity. We are a space where we come together not as representatives of countries, but as members of an interconnected human community. Please do not bring flags of any nationality to Boom. We understand that, given the current state of the world, some may feel the need to show support for oppressed peoples by displaying their national flags.
At the end of Boom, there will be a more direct way to help: through your cashless refunds. Months ago we donated to the Oxfam operation in Gaza. You too will have the option to donate to humanitarian organisations working in crisis zones: Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) working in Gaza too; and Music Saves Ukraine. Stay tuned.

M – Meditation: Be here now. Let your awareness bring calm and clarity to your mind. Enjoy the countless spiritual activities, including at the Samadhi (meditation zone).

N - No Waste: Aiming for zero waste is a shared responsibility. Take care of your waste. We are all guardians of Boomland. Leave Beauty, Not Waste.

O - Open Mind: Sadly, around the world, inclusion policies are being rolled back. Generalisations are replacing thoughtful analysis and critical thinking. At our core, we stand for open-mindedness and firmly oppose all forms of discrimination. Prejudice - whether based on gender, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, social background, religion, mental health, physical ability, or appearance - is simply not acceptable.

P - Psychedelic: Our heart beats to the rhythm of psytrance - and we are a festival rooted in psychedelic culture and arts, in its full and expansive expressions. To us, consciousness expansion is not escape. It is return:

Return to presence.
Return to essence.
Return to the sacred.

Through ego dissolution, we reconnect - to ourselves, to each other, to the living world.

Q – Quest: You are going to Boom for something. Maybe you don’t know what yet - but stay curious. The quest is part of the magic.

R - Ritual of Dance (The theme of Boom 2025): Dance is more than movement - it is a sacred language, older than words. We honour dance as a ritual: a way to transcend the ego, to process emotion, to connect with the sacred, with the Earth, and with each other. On the dancefloor, we remember that we are not separate - we are unity in motion.

S - Sacredness: Every dance, every ritual, every shared moment - all of it can be sacred. Treat it with reverence. And especially honour the sacredness of Boomland.

T – Togetherness:  Boom is a collective manifestation. We co-create this experience. Your energy matters.

 

 

U - Unplug to Connect: Put your phone away. Boom is happening in the now, in real time, under your feet, within your heart, physically.  It is a unique moment to align with yourself and the others around you.

V - VIP (No): Boom stands firmly against VIP culture. There are no VIP tickets, no exclusive areas, no privileged camping, no special access, no theme camps, no hierarchies, no red carpets. We reject elitism. At Boom, everyone is equal. 

W - Water: Drink consciously, bathe mindfully, waste nothing. Keep the lake clean. Please respect shower times that aim to manage this resource efficiently. #SaveTheDrop. 

Y – Yes: Say yes to wonder, to spontaneity, to deep conversations, silent sunrises, happy sunsets, and epic dancefloors!

Z - Zen - Find peace in the integration after Boom. Stillness is important. Often the deepest insights arise in silence.
